Introduction
At Collingwood Primary School, we understand that many families in our community may be facing financial hardship due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. To help support our families through this challenging time, we have opened a food bank called The Pantry. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that no child or family has to go without the essentials they need.
What Will The Pantry Provide?
The Pantry will offer a range of essential food items, including:
How to Access the Foodbank?
If you need to access the food bank, you can contact the school office or ask your child’s teacher for more information. We understand that asking for help can be difficult, and we are here to offer support in a non-judgmental, caring environment. The Pantry can be visited at any time of the school day as a ‘drop in’ service.
How Can You Help?
We also welcome donations from our school community. If you're able, please consider donating non-perishable food items, toiletries or pre-loved clothes to support The Pantry. Donations can be dropped off at the school office or sent in with your child. Every little bit helps and makes a big difference to those in need.
Recipes
We also have a recipe book which is Collingwood’s collaborative collection of recipes, compiled by staff, pupils and our wider school community. Our recipe book is filled with cost-effective recipes, using every day ingredients you might find in our pantry, or in your own cupboards.
