At Collingwood Primary School, our ethos is such that all people who come into our school, whether staff, pupil, parent or visitor, are valued as individuals in their own right. They should set, and be entitled to expect from others, excellent standards of behaviour, marked by respect and responsibility. Our staff will support our children in developing an inner discipline and be able to make up their own minds, being ready to accept responsibility for what they do. They will grow up through making choices and holding to choices that they have made. They will want to be honest with themselves and with others. This is part of our school ethos, which further details can be found on our Ethos page. During our British Values Week, children discussed different issues such as cooperation, diversity, differences, wars and terrorism. Please read our overview of the week which we hold each year.
We also have a whole school SMSC Policy that has been shared with our Chair of Governors and our PSHEe&C governor. In 2016, we invited our Local Authority SMSC Lead into school to conduct a Learning Walk with our governor and Deputy Head. The very positive feedback has been shared with the school community.
